Little Swing 2

Hello everyone

Today is the end of our little swing.
The last part on which we are going to work is the chair!

Come on, let’s go!

So to start the chair we will cut out four pieces of sticks equal in size to 1/3 of a stick. Instead, we’ll cut them on the ends like this, we’ll have the rounded pieces and it’ll look nicer.

Then cut 12 pieces of square stick of equal size. The size to take is about 4cm.
When all the pieces are cut we will file one of the corners of two stick we cut just before . We try to file them at the same time, like that they have exactly the same angle. This will allow us to have a chair slightly tilted and therefore more realistic.

We will then glue them two by two to make the structure of the chair. Be careful, we must leave the thickness of a stick on the sides in order to install future fasteners.

Next step, make the seat.

To make the seat, we will take the small square sticks. You must then use the standard glue which will allow you to adjust their height if it is not the same. All you have to do is put them one after the other down to the back of the seat. For the rear, we will then stack them trying to follow the structure of the chair previously made.

The chair being finished we will be able to create the fasteners that will allow to hang it and move on the swing.

For this we need to cut four sticks in half. We will then stack them in order to make a hole in the same place on the upper part. The diameter is about 1.5mm.

In the hole previously made, inserted a small round wood piece like that they will all have the same position. We will then put them on each side of the chair to make a mark on the stick. The marker will be used to give exactly the same angle of cut on the sticks so that this structure comes properly fit to the chair. (example in this picture)

Cut and filed the 4 pieces so that the edges are clean. Just slide the round wood piece in and stick them on the chair.

Once again, let the glue dry well at this stage, it is important.

After drying we can then have the round wood piece translated in order to slide the whole in our small swing.

We can then cut the rest of the round piece that is out on each side of our swing. we can glue the ends with small round or square pieces so that the seat does not leave its place.

And our little swing is over!

You can then personalize it by adding color or add a small heart as I did.

I hope this tutorial got you more

See you soon!
