Little Swing

Good morning, everyone.

Today we continue with our little ice sticks!

I have a new construction for you.

Let me introduce you to the swing!

As you can see it is entirely built of small piece of wood. And it’s super cool because the character’s chair can swing, so it’s mobile.

Come on I’ll give you the method for making it.

First of all, we have to build the base that will also serve as soil.
For this we will take ten sticks that we will position side by side and flat on the work table.

Then take two more sticks that you will come to stick perpendicular to the other sticks. For this operation be generous on glue, it is necessary that all bruskov is well pasted, otherwise this part will be super sensitive to rotation. (Glue will break).

Here is a little image to better understand

Let the glue dry well and then turn over your base.

Now we will make the structure of the swing. For this we will first glue two by two eight sticks. Doubling them will give us more resistance for the swing.

We will then assemble them, paying attention that the end of the structure does not extend beyond the base that we have just made. When pasting, position the stick at an angle of about 60 degrees (see picture)

Then we will stack the right and left structures and make a hole of about 1.5mm in diameter using a drill. The fact of the overlays will ensure that the hole will be identical on both parts. The hole will be about 5 mm from the top edge (see picture).

Don’t forget to wear gloves!

When the holes are made we will be able to fix our structures on the base. I personally used the glue gun, but if you have cyanoacrylate I advise you to take it to have more rigidity and more cleanliness.

Try to keep them as far apart as possible without being on the edge of the base.

New stage, the roof!

In order to fix the roof we need a flat base. For this we will position and fix a single wooden stick on the top of the structures. Watch out for the gluing position, indeed it will determine the angle of the roof!

Manufacture of the roof.

In order to build the roof we will start on the same strategy as the base. This time we will make a plate consisting of five sticks.(see image)

I propose this time to use sticks of square shape for more realism. They are often provided with stick kits or otherwise retrieved skewer picks.

Wait until the glue dries well.

When we have our pretty little roof at our disposal, we will fix it on the structure of the roof previously created. Used again cyanoacrylate glue for glue. The result will be much cleaner than mine.

Time for you to play.

I hope you enjoyed this first part.

More on the next post.

See you soon, everyone.
